Repentance
The true
understanding of repentance is not being taught in so -called Christian churches
today. The following biblical scriptures
explain what one must do to truly repent through Christ.
Matthew 4:17,
"From that time Jesus began to preach, and
to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Acts 17:30,
"And the times of this
ignorance God winked at ; but now commandeth all men every where to repent."
Acts 3:19, Repent ye therefore, and be
converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall
come from the presence of the Lord.
Psalms 119:9,
Wherewithal shall a young man
cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
II Timothy 3:16,
All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
verse 17,
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Psalms 19:7,
The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
John 14:15, If ye love me, keep my commandments.
II John 1:6,
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment,
That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
1 Kings 8:46,
If they sin against thee, (for there is no
man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the
enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or
near;
verse 47,
Yet if they shall bethink themselves
in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make
supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying,
We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
verse 48,
And so return unto thee with all
their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led
them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto
their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built
for thy name:
verse 49,
Then hear thou their prayer and
their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause.
John 9:31,
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God,
and doeth his will, him he heareth.
I John 3:4,
"Whosoever committeth sin trangresseth also the law: for sin is the trangression
of the law."
Wisdom of Solomon 14:9,
For the ungodly and his ungodliness are both alike hateful unto God.
I Corinthians 6:9,
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not
deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate,
nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
verse 10,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor
drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Verse 11,
And such were some of you: but ye are
washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord
Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Revelation 2:26,
And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end , to him will I give
power over the nations:
verse 27, And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a
potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
